Here are a few cool ideas for ways dads and daughters can celebrate Father’s Day all year round.

Geek out: Participate in National GeekDad Day, a day for kids and their dads to cultivate a “life-long love of science, technology, and making your own fun.”  Whether it’s making your own electric Play-Doh or building a hovercraft, there are dozens of suggestions for geeky ways for dads and daughters to celebrate Father’s Day.

Play in the mud, read, and 23 other ways to connect: We love Rules For Dads Raising Daughters: The Good Men Project’s List, recently featured in the Huffington Post. It has some great suggestions about how to play, connect, talk, and dream with your daughter, while also encouraging her to challenge gender stereotypes.

Make, or watch, a video about dads and daughters: Recently, our friend and colleague Joe Kelly wrote about how the fabulous team at Miss Representation were planning to celebrate Father’s Day with personalized videos of girls and women of all ages telling their own personal stories of their fathers. We can’t wait to watch the videos, and hope this encourages you and your daughter to make your own video!
