Alicia Fournier, 12, is a fifth grader at Wentworth Intermediate School in Scarborough, Maine.  Diagnosed with epilepsy as a toddler, she has endured countless medications, multiple brain surgeries and daily seizures for almost ten years.  Maintaining an endlessly positive attitude, Alicia channels her energy into singing, dancing, and acting.  After honing her chops in musicals all over the state, Alicia decided to use her talent for the benefit of The Epilepsy Foundation.  In joining forces with family and friends, she has raised over $20,000 for epilepsy research and programs to date.  Alicia’s can-do attitude and her determination to better the lives of others, those both suffering from her condition and not, exemplify perfectly the qualities we seek in an Against the Odds award recipient.
